Epilepsy is a condition that affects the brain and causes repeated seizures.
Epilepsy is estimated to affect more than 500,000 people in the UK. This means that almost one in every 100 people has the condition.
Epilepsy Action Northern Ireland
In Northern Ireland approximately 20,000 people have epilepsy. Epilepsy can affect anyone at any age and from any walk of life. We provide information, advice and support on living with epilepsy. Our Epilepsy Helpline and on-line support are one-to-one services that people with epilepsy and those who care for them have called a lifeline. At the same time, local branches and events support people in their own communities. Epilepsy can be an isolating condition, so this support network for people with epilepsy, carers and families, can make all the difference.
